With the pedestrianization of the rue de Metz in its part between François-Verdier and Alsace, the Tisséo buses will no longer be able to pass in this part during the works, from 2022 and when the development comes into service, at the end of 2024. Two Linéo, 7 and 9, and two classic lines, 14 and 44, will no longer be able to use the portion of rue de Metz between François-Verdier and rue d’Alsace-Lorraine. Linéo 7 currently connects Cours Dillon and Saint-Orens, Linéo 9 Empalot and L’Union, bus 14 connects Basso Cambo and Marengo SNCF and 44 Cours Dillon with Paul-Sabatier University.
Where are you going to take them through, knowing that the southern axis via Grand-Rond and Pont Saint-Michel and the northern axis via the boulevards are already saturated?
We will reorganize these lines outside the affected portion of rue de Metz. Linéo 7 and 9 will be merged into a large Linéo 9 which will link L’Union to Saint-Orens via François-Verdier. A new Linéo 7 will complete the southern belt in a few months by connecting the University of Paul-Sabatier, Montaudran and Saint-Orens. Bus 14 will connect Basso Cambo, Saint-Cyprien, the boulevards via Compans and Marengo SNCF. Bus 44, coming from Paul-Sabatier University will no longer go to Cours Dillon but will take the Grand Rond, allées Jules-Guesde, rue Ozenne, rue du Languedoc, place Esquirol and will connect Empalot via the quai de Tounis.
You don’t fear the bottleneck between Grand-Rond and Palais de Justice, where there is no bus lane and only 2X1 lane?
Bus 44 will only take it along the Jardin Royal where there is no traffic jam to take the rue Ozenne.
Will the terminus of Cours Dillon disappear?
No not right now. It was not until the launch of the 3rd metro line, in 2028, that we would think about the possible elimination of the bus stations in the city center: Cours Dillon and Jeanne d’Arc.
And the works of the 3e line at François-Verdier?
