A week after parting, Biarrots and Columérins met last night on the lawn of the Aguiléra stadium. After a tight first leg and won on the wire by the BO (16-20), the Basques doubled the bet and pocketed the offensive bonus.
Still, USC was getting off to a good start. Enterprising and aggressive, she opened the scoring thanks to Poët’s boot (0-3, 4th). In the process, the Coletta gang got a good opportunity on a game at the foot of Poët, well followed by Perrin, but the offensive was not fruitful and the copy, until then very clean, went suddenly darken.
In five minutes, the Columérins received three cards (two red against Vici for a punch on Barry and Deysel after a tackle returned to Saili, as well as a yellow) and conceded a try (10-3, 22nd). Despite this triple inferiority, the visitors did not let go and, at 12 against 15, even managed to register a test on a carried ball (10-10, 30th). Valorous and united, Julien Sarraute’s players could not help a surplus well exploited by Saili, leading a test from Knight (15-10, 34th), but were only two points behind at the break (15-13).
The second half, rather muddled, saw the scorers of both teams climb the scoreboard. Colomiers, led 21-16, did not come far from scoring a quarter of an hour from time, but Lucu’s good defense at the end of the line over Rokoduguni did not allow the visitors to regain the advantage. At the very end of the match, Colomiers, after a great debauchery of energy and a good state of mind displayed, despite the boxes received, ended up cracking and conceded two tries in five minutes.
