Tottenham winning 2-0 over Arsenal in the first half

Tottenham Hotspur managed to beat Arsenal 2-0 in the first half. Son Heung-min and Harry Kane made the difference for 45 minutes.

Playing at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (6/12/2020), the host got the first chance through Eric Dier’s free kick in the 3rd minute, but had not met the target.

Three minutes later, Arsenal turned back to attack. Bukayo Saka fired a shot from outside the penalty box, but the ball also failed to aim at the goal.

Arsenal’s pressure continued in the 11th minute. Thomas Partey shot from distance, but also to no avail.

GOAL! Tottenham lead 1-0 in the 13th minute. Harry Kane initiated a counterattack by releasing long-range feedback to Son Heung-min. The South Korean attacker dribbled the ball briefly, then fired a curling shot that lodged in the right corner of the Arsenal goal guarded by Bernd Leno.

Leading one goal, Tottenham continued to attack. Pierre-Emile Hoejbjerg almost doubled the lead in the 26th minute, if only his shot didn’t go right into Leno’s arms. Three minutes later, Kane’s kick was blocked by Granit Xhaka.

Arsenal try to find an equalizer. Partey fired another long-range shot in the 39th minute, but was blocked by Dier. Meanwhile, Alexandre Lacazette’s free kick in the 44th minute was still sideways on the right side of Tottenham’s goal.

GOAL! Tottenham added a goal in the first half injury time. On the counterattack, Giovani Lo Celso and Son’s collaboration led to a mature feed to Kane in the penalty box. With one hard shot, he successfully broke into Arsenal’s goal.

The first half closed with the score 2-0 for Tottenham.
