Tottenham, Conference League | Star substitutes ensured the long-awaited Tottenham victory

A head start on the match and a fantastic Kane innings ensured Tottenham’s first victory in the Conference League.

TOTTENHAM – MURA 5-1

See the highlights at the top of the case.

After three losses and two draws in the last five games, Tottenham coach Nuno Espirito Santo desperately needed three points at home against Slovenian Mura.

It seemed to be a comfortable day at work for the hosts, but then Mura knocked in a fantastic goal out of nowhere.

Thus, there was a match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and Santo had to put in three of its biggest stars.

Roser Kane

The substitutes for Santo responded immediately, and ensured a superior victory for Tottenham.

Many thanks to Harry Kane, who came in and scored the hat trick.

– Harry Kane is back, Viasat commentator Roar Stokke shouted after the match.

This is the first time since 1995 that a Tottenham player scores three goals as a substitute. The previous one to do this was Israeli Ronny Rosenthal.

Cannon opening by Spurs

After just three minutes, the ball ended up with Dele Alli, who was all alone with Mura goalkeeper Matko Obradovic. After a clumsy involvement of the Croatian last chance, Alli was fouled, and the referee pointed to the penalty spot.

Football expert and Lillestrøm player Pål André Helland was not modest in the Viasat studio when the panel went through the situation during the break.

– He is as reckless as an elephant in a porcelain shop, says Helland.

Alli took the penalty himself and led Tottenham in the lead. The hosts did not give in and continued the pressure on the Slovenian guests.

Just a few minutes later, Obradovic had to retrieve the ball in his own goal. Giovani Lo Celso unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors’ keeper did well to tip wide.

Fantastic volleyball

Tottenham seemed to have good control of the visitors, who are in fifth place in the Slovenian Prva Liga. But then Ziga Kous scored a beautiful goal for the guests a few minutes after the break.

A corner kick was blocked by 17-year-old Dane Scarlett, but the ball ended up just outside the penalty area where Kous managed to charge the cannon.

He hammered to a volley that ended in goal behind a chanceless Pierluigi Gollini in the Spurs cage.

– He waits for it to lie down like a hug of snow and sweep. It is a magnificent match, and a style study of how it should technically be performed, commented Roar Stokke.

Kane scores

The hosts made it unnecessarily exciting for themselves when they let Mura into the match again. Nuno Espirito Santo took no chances and put three of his biggest stars in a triple exchange.

In came Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Lucas Moura. Less than ten minutes later, Kane made his mark on the scoring list after almost tackling the ball in goal alone with the Mura goalkeeper.

The substitutes were to stand out again. Son runs through the back room and parks the Mura players. Then he hits the ball to Kane who puts the ball in goal.

– It is Formula 1 football by Tottenham. In with turbo-Son, and vipps, Kane has two goals on the account in this match, says Stokke.

Harry Kane did not give up, and finally put in his third of the day. Thus, he could take the match ball home and lower his shoulders after a long-awaited hat trick.

The English star striker has gone goalless in all five Premier League matches he has played this season.
