Toto Wolff’s old enemy Colin Kolles pulls off leather “Mercedes supplied scale model to Racing Point”

Colin Kolles makes firm statements in the case surrounding Racing Point’s ‘pink Mercedes’. According to the former team boss of Force India, among others, he would have been told that Racing Point not only received parts, but also complete scale models and data from Mercedes about last year’s World Cup-winning car.

He does not say who would have told that to Romanian Kolles.

Big grain of salt: Kolles and Wolff are no friends

It should be noted that Kolles and Toto Wolff are probably not friends. In 2013, Kolles allegedly blackmailed Wolff with a secret audio recording. In it, Wollf would have said unkind things about all kinds of Mercedes bobos, but that matter was never clarified. The two would have “resolved” it together. It is not clear how much money that issue possibly cost Wolff.

So Kolles’ comments should be taken with a grain of salt. Still, Kolles says things that could have far-reaching consequences throughout the appeal against Racing Point. Until now, Mercedes remained reasonably out of reach, partly due to a strong lobby from Wolff. For example, Williams withdrew, they drive a Mercedes engine. McLaren also decided not to appeal, after the team previously agreed to do so. Next year, McLaren will work with Mercedes again, but that would not have affected their decision, according to the British team.

‘Wind tunnel model’ delivered ‘at 60 percent

Kolles states: “I was told that they (Mercedes, ed.) Not only had parts, but also certain data and a wind tunnel model at 60 percent of the size and a show model as an example”, Kolles claims.

His story is very detailed, however. He continues: “The parts of it went into a scanner and converted into CAD data. Otherwise the concept would never work.”

Toto Wolff had a big role, Kolles claims

Romanian Colin Kolles then talks about Toto Wolff:

“If I were Mercedes, I would wonder why our team boss is so often on holiday on the boat (van Stroll),” said Kolles. This suggests that Wolff might leave for Stroll’s team. Kolles also says he knows that Wolff would have played a major role in the ‘pink Mercedes’ case.
