The energy giant Total has adopted the status of European company which allows a company to carry out its activities in all member countries of the European Union in a single legal form, he announced Friday.
Total SA has “become Total SE following its registration as a European company in the Nanterre Trade and Companies Register, which took place on July 16, 2020”, the group described in a press release.
Such a modification of the statutes has already been adopted by groups like Airbus and Constellium.
“From a strictly legal point of view, that doesn’t change much” but “I think it’s good that the big European groups show their faith in Europe”, declared in January the CEO of Total Patrick Pouyanné , by announcing this plan to change status.
