Torneo Apertura 2023: Movement of Clubs in Guatemala’s National Soccer League – ESPN Digital Report

ESPN Digital presents the movement of ups and downs in the 12 clubs of the highest category for the Torneo Apertura 2023

GUATEMALA – With the promotion of the Coatepeque FC and CSD Zacapa teams, the 12 clubs of the National League have been confirmed for the 2023-2024 season, which will start next August, with the format stipulated by the General Assembly of the highest category of Guatemalan football.

The defending champion of the title will be Xelajú MC, so it will be the rival to beat during the championship. In addition, together with the Quetzaltean team, Cobán Imperial and Comunicaciones will represent Guatemala in the Concacaf Central American Cup 2023which is also scheduled to start in August.

As it is a new season, the teams are making changes to their squads in order to compete in the best possible way and avoid the danger of being relegated in the accumulated table at the end of the season.
