The Spanish twins Araneda from the Dual Effect studio offer for their first game a return to the fundamentals of Survival-Horror.

Openly inspired by Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Alone in the Dark, Tormented Souls promises a similar experience with a strong emphasis on exploration and puzzles, all accompanied by a fixed camera. However, the developers say they didn’t keep the rigid grip of yesteryear and opted for something more manageable in order to give the formula a more modern look.

In Tormented Souls So, you play Caroline Walker, a young woman who investigates the disappearance of two twin sisters in the old mansion of Winterlake transformed into a hospital. But as she explored the building, the investigator is knocked out and wakes up in pain a week later in a bath, her body plugged into old treatment machines. Caroline will therefore leave to explore the building to look for these famous twin sisters and understand the truth about her own identity at the same time.

To solve the many puzzles that await him, Caroline is able to pass through the mirrors which give her access to a parallel dimension which will allow him to unblock certain situations in his reality. But whether in this dimension or the other, you will have to be careful, because the horrors of the hospital can attack you at every turn of the halls …
