Torchlight III will be released on October 13 for PC and consoles and later for Switch – Gaming – News

Torchlight III will be released on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on October 13th. The game is already available via Early Access, but will be officially released soon. The price then rises to 40 euros. The game is coming to Nintendo Switch later this year.

On Steam report the makers that the 1.0 release of Torchlight III is imminent. The game can now be purchased for 30 euros via Early Access and the price will go up after October 13. Owners of the cheaper Early Access version will automatically receive the full release when it comes out.

Of early version of Torchlight III suddenly appeared in June via Steam Early Access without prior notice. The game has been under development for some time, but that involved many changes.

The original idea was that the game would become a free to play mmorpg. The studio waived that after tests showed that gamers were not waiting for that. It was then decided to make another action RPG, similar to the first two parts. In the new game, players can also build their own fortress.

Runic Games released Torchlight and Torchlight II in 2009 and 2011 respectively. However, that studio has been closed since 2017. The new part will be created by Echtra Games, headed by Diablo and Blizzard veteran Max Schaefer.

A Nintendo Switch version of the game was also announced in August. It is not yet known exactly when it will be released. According to Eurogamer the game is coming to the Nintendo handheld before the end of this year.
