The Kijang Innova is still firmly at the top of the best-selling car. For more details, here are the 20 best-selling cars in Indonesia in September 2023.
Toyota Kijang Innova is still continuing its positive car sales record in Indonesia. Toyota’s flagship MPV was the best-selling throughout September 2023. Citing data released by the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo), the Innova was the best-selling with wholesale sales of 6,486 units.
Just below the Innova sits the Honda Brio. Honda’s flagship hatchback managed to record sales of 5,747 units and was followed by the Daihatsu Sigra with distribution reaching 5,315 units.
The Avanza, which was nicknamed the car of a million people throughout September 2023, only managed to become the fifth best-selling. Avanza distribution from factories to dealers in the ninth month only reached 3,975 units.
The commercial cars released by Daihatsu and Carry are not to be outdone by passenger cars. Both posted sales of 3,432 units and 3,280 units respectively.

Meanwhile, car sales in Indonesia for the September 2023 period will experience a decline. In Gaikindo data, wholesale sales were recorded at 79,883 units while retail sales were 80,972 units. Just for comparison, in August, car sales in Indonesia reached 88,878 units wholesale. Overall for nine months, wholesale car sales in Indonesia were 755,173 units and retail 746,239 units.
