The prayers have been heard. TOOL is not at Rock Werchter, but at Graspop 2024. With the arrival of the legendary progressive band, the first piece of the puzzle for the Graspop 2024 line-up has been put in place.
It just doesn’t have any yet 10,000 Days lasted. But after the tease of Graspop Metal Meeting 2024 yesterday, “Something’s cooking in Dessel”, there is now big news: TOOL is coming to Graspop. The band announced this via the tour page on its own website. In addition to visiting Graspop, the band reports that they will also be in the Ziggo Dome on Monday, May 27.
The Belgian metal festival has still not announced any official names for 2024. There were well-founded rumors about Bury Tomorrow and Rotting Christ coming through. With TOOL’s self-confirmation, a first headliner has now been added. Graspop is expected to confirm the booking today, and this is only the first of many announcements in the coming period.

TOOL is one of the most fascinating bands within the rock and metal genre, with a unique signature sound. This sound comes from a true star ensemble: one of the best drummers in modern rock history, a virtuoso guitarist, a unique bassist and an elusive vocalist. Yet the band has never performed at Graspop. Given the popularity of the band, Rock Werchter was always given priority. Now that is finally changing.
Musically you are doing TOOL a disservice by describing them as a metal band. It is difficult to describe the band. A progressive influence is clearly audible, rock, alternative and metal influences are also present. And then we haven’t even talked about the visuals and the underlying themes on the albums. From ambiguous songs like ‘Stinkfist’ to the ‘Fibonacci sequence’ op Lateralus. Actually it doesn’t matter much, TOOL is TOOL.
