Too Great in MotoGP, Jorge Lorenzo Calls Marc Marquez a Rare Talent: Okezone Sports

LUGANO – Living legend MotoGP, Jorge Lorenzo, recognizes talent Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda). Lorenzo even called Marquez very rare.

Since plunging into the world of professional racing in 2008, The Baby Alien-Marquez’s nickname-has been showing off. Marquez won the 2010 Moto3 title, then he moved up to Moto2 the following season.

For two years competing in Moto2, Marquez was able to win the title in the 2012 season. Marquez moved up to MotoGP in 2013 by becoming a Honda rider.

Marquez also made history by becoming the first racer to win MotoGP in his debut season. After that, Marquez dominated MotoGP with champions in the 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. Overall, the Spaniard has eight world titles.

Since Marquez was promoted to MotoGP, Lorenzo has only beaten him once in the championship, namely when he won the 2015 MotoGP. Apart from the 2015 season, Jorge Lorenzo could not do much against Marquez.

After often losing in different garages, Lorenzo became Marc Marquez’s teammate at Honda in the 2019 season. Many people think that Lorenzo will be Marquez’s competitor because he is both supported by Honda.

However, Lorenzo remains helpless in the face of The Baby Alien. When the 2019 season ended, Lorenzo decided to retire due to a series of injuries.

Therefore, Lorenzo stated that Marc Marquez was very talented. Of the many opponents Lorenzo in MotoGP, he called Marquez the strongest.

“Marquez is very talented, appearing once every 20 years. For me, he is one of the most difficult rivals to beat, the best on the grid, for me,” Lorenzo said, quoting from Motosan, Monday (12/7/2021).

Meanwhile, in MotoGP 2021, Marquez is even still able to win the race even though he is not in his best condition. He won the 2021 German MotoGP race at the Sachsenring Circuit, last Sunday 20 June.

Now, Marquez is enjoying the summer vacation of 2021 while improving his physical condition which is not yet 100 percent fit. After the summer is over, Marquez will appear in the 2021 Styria MotoGP race at the Red Bull Ring Circuit, Austria, Sunday 8 August.
