Tuesday evening Norwegian time was actor Tony Dow (77) announced the death of his wife on his official Facebook page. It turned out not to be true.
According to the website TMZ, his wife, in a very upset state, believed that her husband was dead and then reported this to his management, who wrote a post on the Facebook page.

Wednesday indeed confirms his management on Facebook that he is now dead. The statement about the actor’s passing reads as follows:
– We have received confirmation from Christopher, Tony’s son, that Tony passed away earlier this morning, with his loving family by his side to see him through this journey.
– We know that the world is saddened by the loss of this incredible man. He gave so much to us all and was loved by so many, the statement added.

His son Christopher Dow (49) has also spoken out:
– Although this is a very sad day, I have comfort and peace that he is in a better place. He was the best dad anyone could ask for. He was my coach, my mentor, my best friend, my best man at my wedding and my hero.
Dow was diagnosed with cancer in May 2022. TMZ got an update last week describing the condition as: “A roller coaster ride with highs and lows.”

He must have been in and out of hospital with various complications and treatments.
Dow is best known from the television sitcom “Leave It to Beaver” which ran on American television screens from 1957 to 1963.
