Omikron dominates
It is the omicron variant that now dominates in Norway, in week 52 it accounted for 65.4 per cent of all cases of infection that were screened or sequenced.
– We have expected that the infection will increase now, mainly due to omicron. Now we are excited about the development in the coming weeks, says assistant health director Espen Nakstad to VG.
An increase in infection is expected now in January, not least because fewer people tested themselves in the last two weeks of December, and you are now back in everyday life with more testing, not least in schools.
