Tonga with the first case of COVID-19, is preparing for a lockdown – Oceania

  • The Pacific island of Tonga has registered its first case of coronavirus. A person who has returned from New Zealand is infected.

    The country’s prime minister said islanders should prepare for a lockdown next week.

    Tonga is one of the last countries in the world that has not registered cases. The island nation is home to 100,000 people, and only a third of them have been vaccinated, Nova TV notes.
