Tomorrow the rain fell on 12 governorates … and 8 urgent alerts for citizens

The Meteorological Authority has warned the citizens of 12 governorates of the possibility that tomorrow, Saturday, thunderstorms will fall in different areas of Jamhouria, due to an air depression in the Mediterranean Sea.

The Meteorological Authority said in a statement that there is a possibility of rain in (Matrouh, Alexandria, Beheira, Kafr El-Sheikh, Damietta, Dakahlia, Gharbia, Sharqia, Menoufia, Cairo, Giza and Qalyubia).

The statement of the Meteorological Authority indicated that the country is affected by a shallow depression centered on the Mediterranean, accompanied by an air depression in the upper atmosphere, which increases humidity, storm clouds and precipitation of varying intensity in the north of the country and even the governorates of Greater Cairo.

Today, Friday, the Governorate of Alexandria issued an urgent warning statement to citizens, including 8 instructions and warnings that must be respected during the wave of bad weather, in order to preserve their lives.

And according to the Meteorological Authority, moderate rains, sometimes thunderstorms, are expected on Saturday in the areas of the northern coasts and in the Governorate of Alexandria, with an incidence of 80%.

The Governorate of Alexandria invited citizens to follow the following:

Be careful when driving in rain and only drive when absolutely necessary and with extreme caution.

– Reduce the movement of cars, to allow rainwater lifting cars to move easily and smoothly.

Avoid driving at speeds over 60 km and keep a greater safety distance than normal.

Do not stand under the old and dilapidated balconies.

– Do not stay outdoors during lightning.

Do not go near fences, metal objects and railways during lightning, to avoid the risk of electrocution.

Do not park on the raindrops.

Do not park cars under or in places where trees are likely to fall.

For his part, Major General Mohamed Al-Sharif, Governor of Alexandria, announced that the highest degree of preparedness and emergency in all executive agencies of the governorate at the neighborhood level has been raised to deal with weather warnings.

The governor stressed the continuation of full coordination and cooperation between all the services and vital sectors of the governorate, led by the Health and Drinking Company, the Department of Traffic and Civil Protection.

He instructed all the executive agencies concerned to continuously monitor the conditions of the various roads and monitor any emergency cases to avoid problems in any area due to rains and to ensure that the flow of traffic is reached in all the streets of Alexandria.

He explained that the operations room of the governorate continues to be kept stably and continuously, to cope with any emergency crises, as the room receives all complaints from citizens for rainwater accumulations.
