Hala Zayed, Minister of Health and Population, will hold an important conference tomorrow, on the latest developments in the epidemiological situation of the emerging corona virus, and the state’s preparations to confront the second wave, by reviewing the indicators of infection in Egypt compared to countries of the world, the highest governorates in terms of infection rate, and the new treatment protocol .
Yesterday, the Ministry of Health and Population announced that 100 recovered people from the Coronavirus have been discharged from hospitals, after receiving the necessary medical care and recovery according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, bringing the total of those recovering from the virus to 100,106 cases until yesterday.
Dr. Khaled Mujahid, advisor to the Minister of Health and Population for Media Affairs and the official spokesperson for the ministry, stated that 224 new cases that proved positive for laboratory analyzes of the virus were recorded, as part of the necessary surveillance, investigation and examination procedures that the ministry conducts according to the guidelines of the World Health Organization, pointing to the death of 14 new cases.
Mujahid said that, according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization issued on May 27, 2020, the disappearance of symptoms for 10 days after infection is an indication of the patient’s recovery from the Corona virus.
“Mujahid” stated that the total number that was registered in Egypt with the new Corona virus until yesterday, is 108,754 cases, including 100,106 cases that have been cured, and 6343 deaths.
The Ministry of Health and Population continues to raise its preparations in all governorates of the Republic, follow the situation first-hand regarding the “emerging corona” virus, and take all necessary preventive measures against any viruses or infectious diseases, and the ministry has also allocated a number of communication means to receive citizens’ inquiries about the emerging corona virus and diseases.
