The specialists sounded the alarm this afternoon, because they fear that children and young people may spread the virus. Prime Minister Rutte said this week that they are less likely to do so than adults. The specialist federation urges the government to close the schools immediately.
Tomorrow the cabinet will also consult with educational organizations. What has been discussed there has not been disclosed, but it is obvious that this is about whether the schools can remain open.
Attempts are being made to “bring positions together” tomorrow. In a statement, the ministry says it wants to err on the side of caution, even if it means that public life comes to a standstill.
