Tommy Soeharto’s company sold 3 ships, what’s wrong?

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Sea transportation company owned by Hutomo Mandala Putra or Tommy Soeharto, PT Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi Tbk (HITS) sold 3 units of ships owned by its subsidiary PT Humpuss Transportasi Bulk (HTC). The total sales value of the three ships reached Rp 18 billion.

President Director of HumpussIntermoda Transportasi BudiHartono said that the sale of the vessels is a form of revitalization of the company’s vessels. The three types of vessels are TB Semar 9, Box 22, and Box 15.


“There is no direct impact on operational, legal, financial conditions, or the company’s business continuity, as an effort to revitalize or rejuvenate ships,” he said in the disclosure of information on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Saturday (21/11/2020)

The total sales value reached Rp. 18.1 billion. The details are the TB Semar 9 and Box 22 ships worth Rp. 14.8 billion and Box 15 ships at Rp. 3.3 billion.

Meanwhile, the buyers of these vessels are PT Singa Laut Perkasa and PT Trans Makmur Bersama. The two companies that buy ships are said to be not affiliates of the company.

PT Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi or HITS itself is a company owned by Hutomo Mandala Putra alias Tommy Soeharto. Tommy owns around 738,692,651 shares or 10.4% shares in Humpuss Intermoda Transportasi.
