Tom and Joe carried out assignments live on the radio all morning and afternoon. For example, they have to persuade a hundred people to put their radio on NPO 3FM, send a huge stack of overdue prizes to winners, arrange a live performance and visit their new neighbors from NPO Radio 2, NPO Klassiek and NPO with a bowl of oliebollen. Radio 5. Around 4 p.m., their last assignment was to jump into the pond dressed in 3FM green swimming trunks.
“They found it exciting and fun,” says editor-in-chief Jauke Jansens of NPO 3FM. The DJs knew nothing until 10 a.m. Monday morning. “It was all secretly cooked up with all the other 3FM DJs. They made up the assignments.” The new DJs, who recently exchanged Qmusic for NPO 3FM, had no idea until what time they had to stay in the studio. “In their eyes it could have lasted until very late in the evening.”
With the fun promotion, the DJs were able to introduce the station and the listeners could get to know the pair. Since this year, Tom and Joe can be heard on the channel every working day between 9:00 and 10:00 am.
