Today another corona update from the cabinet, two free self-tests per household

A number of ministers will meet again today for a corona meeting. An update on the measures will follow after that consultation. Major changes are not yet expected in view of the already announced press conference next Friday.

The cabinet is discussing, among other things, the measures in secondary education, but also about the restrictions on the catering industry, shops and events. In addition, it is being examined whether the one and a half meter rule should still remain in force in higher education.

Major adjustments to the package of measures are not expected until Friday.

Self-testing

The Ministry of Health has announced that anyone who wishes to do so will soon be able to order two self-tests for free. All Dutch people will receive a letter about this this month. That letter contains a code with which the tests can be ordered. Students can also order tests through their study programme.

With the free tests, among other things, the cabinet hopes to prevent the number of infections from rising seriously after the summer holidays, just like last year.
