To date, 67 works contracts have been awarded for an additional EUR 75 million in road repairs – Sectors – Financenet

At the beginning of this week, a total of 32 open procurement procedures were announced – 23 road construction sites, eight bridge construction sites, one safety barrier installation contract and one ribbon (acoustic stripe) construction contract, as well as 50 price inquiries within the framework of 49 general contracts. 51 objects.

In this program, it is planned to announce several procurements of construction works for the installation of technical means of traffic organization. In addition, within the framework of this financing, contracts were and are being concluded for construction supervision at all construction sites.

As reported, LVC will implement 84 projects instead of the previously planned 70 projects this year for the additional 75 million euros, Mārtiņš Lazdovskis, a member of the company’s board, said in an interview with the Latvian Television program “Rīta Panorāma” on Thursday.

He noted that the company will fully implement the 75 million euro program, including more repairs than previously planned. “The good news is that initially we had included 70 objects in the 75 million program, but due to the high competition (…) instead of these 70 objects, we will sell 84 objects this year,” said Lazdovskis.

An additional 75 million euros, which the government decided on 28 April to allocate for the improvement of state roads, are being invested in the improvement of the pavement of the country’s main and regional roads, as well as in several traffic safety projects. With these additional funds, construction works were initially planned at about 70 public road facilities, as well as in some traffic safety improvement projects. Initially, it was planned to rehabilitate a total of 595 kilometers of state roads and eight bridges with the additional funds allocated.

Taking into account that additional financing in the amount of 75 million euros is available only until 31 December this year, investments are being made in the renewal of road surfaces. The main criteria for the selection of sections are the technical condition of roads and traffic intensity. Restoration of the pavement can be carried out in those stages that are in a relatively good technical condition, which can be significantly improved by restoring the pavement. The second important criterion is traffic intensity, so that the investment can serve the maximum number of road users.
