Timor Leste Added as a Subject Country Recipient of Visit Visa Free Facility

JAKARTA – The government has officially added Timor Leste as a subject country receiving Visa Free Visit (BVK) facilities through the Director General of Immigration Circular Letter Number IMI-0058.GR.01.01 of 2023 on Thursday (12/02/2023). Thus, currently there are a total of 10 (ten) countries receiving BVK facilities.

“Currently, there are 10 BVK subject countries, namely Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, Timor Leste and Vietnam,” said Sub-coordinator of Public Relations of the Directorate General of Immigration, Achmad Nur Saleh on Monday (13/02/ 2023).

The following is a list of airports with Immigration Checkpoints (TPI) that serve BVK grants:

1. Halim Perdana Kusuma, East Jakarta
2. Hang Nadim Batam, Riau Archipelago
3. Juanda, Surabaya
4. Kertajati, Cirebon
5. Kualanamu, Medan
6. Minangkabau, Padang
7. Ngurah Rai, Rai Bali
8. Sam Ratulangi, Manado
9. Sentani, Jayapura
10. Soekarno-Hatta, Tangerang
11. Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman, Balikpapan
12. Sultan Hasanuddin, Makassar
13. Sultan Iskandar Muda, Banda Aceh
14. Sultan Syarif Kasim II, Pekanbaru
15. Yogyakarta International Airport, Special Region of Yogyakarta
16. Zainuddin Abdul Madjid, Mataram

Free Visit Visa is valid for 14 days and cannot be extended. Requirements that must be shown to the Immigration officer at TPI are a passport that is still valid for at least 6 (six) months and a ticket to leave Indonesian territory. Achmad reminded that foreigners who are subject to BVK who still wish to stay longer in Indonesia must leave Indonesian territory first and re-enter using another immigration residence permit.

“To stay longer in Indonesia, foreigners can choose other types of immigration stay permits such as e-VOA (Electronic Visa on Arrival), Visit Visa or Limited Stay Visa,” he concluded.
