Times are tough for marriage providers, who are preparing their response

A wave of provider bankruptcies would mark a drastic drop in marriages.

While the season should be in full swing, the wedding industry could not be more active … not to organize weddings for 10 people without a party but to save your skin. Out of 45,000 annual weddings (mean wedding celebrations, not civil ceremonies), it is likely that nearly 40,000 will be canceled in 2020, according to figures from the new French-speaking Federation of Marriage Providers. “The loss of turnover will be more than 70% or even 100% for some players, given the seasonality of the sector from March to October”, underlines Isabelle Ghosez, vice-president of this federation.
