According to the Steinheim SPD, the end of the ferry was foreseeable. She now advocates a bridge.
The permanent end for the Main ferry between Mühlheim and Main Valley was foreseeable and now it was time for a bridge as a viable solution. The Steinheim SPD is of this opinion, according to its communication.
The overloading of the Steinheimer bridge is related to the fact that there is not a single bridge crossing between the Main valley and Mühlheim. The next bridge downstream after the Steinheimer Bridge is only between Offenbach and Frankfurt. “In a densely populated region like ours, such a long stretch of river without a bridge is a real rarity and anything but contemporary.”
If you want to relieve residents, shorten routes, equalize traffic flows and avoid detours, you have to work as a bridge for a fixed river crossing. Steinheim must finally be significantly relieved of through traffic, according to the Social Democrats.
