Heavy rain and thunderstorms cause nuisance in several places in the east of the Netherlands. In the middle of a storm on the A1 between Deventer and Apeldoorn, a car got into the guardrail. As a result, two lanes were closed around 10 p.m.

For the provinces of Overijssel, Drenthe, Groningen and Friesland, the KNMI already had code yellow announced due to the severe weather in the north and east of the country. Initially, the meteorological institute had already expected the first showers to move north in the afternoon, but later adjusted that expectation to this evening and tonight.

Traffic warning
The ANWB warns that traffic and people engaged in outdoor activities may be hindered by local hail, a lot of rain and gusts of wind. On the A1 it went wrong in the middle of a storm tonight when a car ended up in the guardrail.

The fire brigade was called. However, the driver was able to get out of the vehicle without serious injuries. However, two of the three lanes have been closed, causing some traffic congestion in the direction of Apeldoorn.

Water through wells up
Locally, a lot of rain has already fallen in some places. A heavy shower over Deventer did not cause huge problems, but it did cause some flooding in the business park. The water rises through wells.
