For the treatment, Nanik explained that his party provides free medical services provided by 13 health centers and 10 hospitals in the city of Surabaya. Then, it also provides assistance, counseling, and home care to the homes of people living with HIV, as well as providing support.
“The village also provides milk and food for people who can’t afford it. We also always provide comprehensive information on prevention of transmission, which we routinely do to schools, students, groups of entertainment workers and the wider community who are vulnerable to this disease,” he said.
Then monitor the provision of treatment with regular inspections, and coordinate with the Culture, Youth, and Sports and Tourism Offices to visit entertainment houses.
“In the last five years, until 2021 is a significant decrease compared to 2018 which was the highest. We continue to carry out screening and the City of Surabaya also has an active AIDS Commission (KPA) in 31 sub-districts.
Nanik reasoned that the data from the East Java Health Office (Dinkes) which stated that the city of Surabaya was the city with the highest new HIV/AIDS cases in East Java with 323 patients in 2021 was due to the large number of residents of other cities and districts seeking treatment in Surabaya.
“So, many outsiders who seek treatment in Surabaya,” said Nanik.
