Three more deaths and 213 cases of covid-19 in Portugal


Portugal registered, in the last 24 hours, three more deaths and 213 new cases of covid-19. There are 275 more recovered. In total, 1743 people died and 52061 were infected.

According to the daily bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health, three people have died since Tuesday, day when the balance sheet had accounted for a death, bringing the total number of deaths to 1743. The victims, two registered in the North and one in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, are three men, aged between 50 and 59 years, 70 and 79 and over 80.

In the last 24 hours, 213 more cases of infection were registered (yesterday there were 167 and the day before yesterday 112), with 52,061 infected. Of the new contagions, 147 were registered in Lisbon and the Tagus Valley (which adds up to a total of 26,573 infected), which is equivalent to 69% do total, far from the more than 90% that the region came to represent daily in the beginning of the summer.

The North now has 37 more cases (out of a total of 18,891), the Center region has 16 more cases (4494), the Alentejo has nine more (762) and the Algarve has three more (905). Madeira has one more case (119) and the Azores continue with 170.

Across the country, there are 369 people receiving hospital treatment (15 fewer than yesterday), 42 of whom are in intensive care units (one more). On the other hand, there are 37,840 recovered cases, 275 more than yesterday. All told, there are still 12,478 active patients.
