(AP) On the eve of the inauguration, thousands of people in New York demonstrated against the upcoming American President Donald Trump together with stars like Alec Baldwin and Robert De Niro. With posters and chants, they gathered on Thursday evening (local time) in the middle of Manhattan, where several skyscrapers bear Trump’s name. “Trump is a bad example for this country, for this city,” said actor De Niro from a stage to the demonstrators. His colleague Baldwin took on his Trump role known from the comedy show “Saturday Night Live”. “Donald Trump and Steve Bannon and Mike Pence think you’re going to duck. They don’t understand that New Yorkers don’t duck. ” The actors Mark Ruffalo and Julianne Moore, the director Michael Moore and the mayor of the metropolis, Bill de Blasio, were among the demonstrators.
