Those killed on the motorcycle near Plovdiv were traveling at 138 km/h

Today at 11:00 a.m. the case was held in the Plovdiv District Court against the accused Ivan Trifonov, who after a collision with a motorcycle caused the death of two people in 2020, in the village of Vojvodinovo, handed a reporter to Plovdiv24.bg.

At the time of the accident, he was driving a Mercedes E280 car, and according to the law, he violated the traffic rules: Article 5 para. 2 item 1 and Article 37 para. 1 item 1 of the Law on Traffic the roads, and Article 84 para.2 item 1 of the Regulations for the Implementation of the ZDvP, as he carelessly caused the death of two persons, one on 23.10.2020 and the other on 3.11.2020, which is crime under Article 343 paragraph 3 item 4 point B item 1 item 1 item B item 1 item Article 342 item 1 of the Criminal Code.

The persons sued on behalf of the deceased did not appear in court. The 46-year-old man asked for the case to end today, admitting his full guilt.

Trifonov’s lawyer – Krasimir Elderov, pointed out that the motorcycle on which the two died was driven at a speed of 138 km/h at a speed limit of 50, and after a forensic biological examination of the driver’s blood, alcohol and narcotic substances were found. Trifonov was driving his vehicle at a speed of 33 km/h, with the permitted speed of 50 km/h.

Elderov asked the court to lighten the sentence, as Trifonov was not under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other substances prohibited by law, and is not a danger to society, as he is a working father of two children, married and with a secondary education education.

The court sentenced Trifonov to 3 years of conditional imprisonment and his driver’s license to be revoked for 3 years.
