High inflation means that money loses value with each passing month. The minimum wage increase in 2022 will be a certain consolation for the lowest earners. The government decided that the lowest salary will increase by PLN 210 gross from January. How will this translate into net salaries? PLN 3010 gross – this is the minimum wage in Poland from 2022 – decided the government of Mateusz Morawiecki. This means an increase in the minimum wage by PLN 210. The minimum hourly wage is expected to be PLN 19.70 gross. The government had until mid-September to make this decision.

From January 1, 2022, the minimum remuneration for work is PLN 3010. From January 1, 2022, the minimum hourly rate is PLN 19.70 “.

In line with the procedures, the amount of the increase was sent to the Social Dialogue Council for consultation in the summer. The government then proposed the gross amount of PLN 200. As we know, the expectations of the employers and trade unions regarding the increase in the minimum wage are quite divergent. If the parties do not agree, the government decides the amount of the minimum wage for the next year by way of an ordinance. This has been the case in previous years and it has also been this time. The increase in salary to PLN 3010 gross meansthat the employee will get around PLN 2210 “on hand” on the current basis. If the salary was calculated taking into account the tax changes under the “New Deal” (the legislative process is underway), the minimum net salary would already be over PLN 2,363.56.
