A judge in Meta sentenced a man to 44 years in prison, after finding him responsible for the crime of his former romantic partner and her daughter, a minor under 14 years of age.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, “the forcefulness of the evidentiary material, presented in court by a specialized prosecutor’s office of the Meta Section,” allowed the result.
The events that led to the sentence were recorded on December 23, 2019, in the San Antonio neighborhood, southeast of Villavicencio (Meta).
According to the investigation, the defendant lived with the woman for 12 years, but that day he violently entered the residence where she was, 44, with a daughter, and without saying a word he shot them in the presence of two other minors (children of the couple). ).
The 37-year-old assailant was arrested in the rural area of Puerto López (Meta) in January 2020 and has been deprived of liberty in a prison since then.
For the double murder, the man will serve the sentence as the author of the crimes of aggravated femicide in competition with illegal carrying of weapons, which the Prosecutor’s Office charged him with at the time.
In the ruling, the judge did not grant the sentenced person any benefit.
