HOUSTON, Texas. – A large number of people applied for the aid fund Covid-19 of Harris County so the numbers broke records and the status of those applications are already being released.

This is the second phase of funding which was available online and by phone, and in which tens of thousands of applications were received from Harris County residents seeking that benefit.

In just two days, the fund offered 1,898,555 sessions on your website and this includes portal visitors. In total they were:

  • 178,562 of the sessions were held in Spanish.

  • 2,474 of the sessions were held in Vietnamese.

  • 1,973 of the sessions were conducted in Chinese.

  • 24,136 people received counseling by phone.

  • 8,103 sessions were through calls in Spanish.

  • 16,033 sessions were through calls in English.

“The staggering number of requests we receive only shows the immense magnitude of need that exists throughout Harris County,” the judge said, Lina Hidalgo.

The official said it is clear that people are suffering, so aid is being expedited as quickly as possible.

To ensure a fair process for everyone who submitted an application, they will be placed in a drawing and randomly selected.

“We understand that the urgency is critical since the need is great, and we are committed to deploying this aid fairly and as quickly as possible so that it reaches those who need it most, “said Harris County Precinct 1 Commissioner Rodney Ellis.

Those who live in the most vulnerable areas will have up to a 50% greater chance of being selected.

Subsequently, a non-profit organization will contact the beneficiary families or individuals within five business days to continue the application process.
