New WhatsApp Law in July 2022: Element, Threema and Co. are now linked to WhatsApp

According to “Statista.com”, WhatsApp is by far the most used app in Germany. Anyone who wanted to stay in touch had to rely on the messenger service. But that is about to change – with this new law:

New WhatsApp update in June 2022: edit messages afterwards

WhatsApp is apparently planning a new update and wants to make it possible to edit messages that have already been sent. You can see exactly how the new WhatsApp update works in the video here.

WhatsApp updates at a glance

More convenient, simpler, faster, safer – WhatsApp promises its users all of this. Some innovations have already been implemented by the popular messenger service.

Update from October 2022: WhatsApp no longer works on these iPhone models

For owners of older iPhones, WhatsApp will soon be over – an update of the app will not only bring new functions – iOS 10 and 11 will also no longer be supported. As of October 24, 2022, iOS 12 is the minimum requirement for Messenger.

Whatsapp update in March 2022: Emoji reactions and voice messages

There is a long-awaited update for all Whatsapp users: In the latest version of the app, messages can be answered with an emoji reaction. With other news services, such as Twitter or Microsoft Teams, this function has long been part of everyday life. Facebook Messenger also allows emoji reactions.

With the current update, WhatsApp makes it possible to listen to voice messages outside of the corresponding chat. The activated voice message continues to play even if you start another chat or switch chats. Handy, right?

WhatsApp update: How to see who is stalking you!

A cool new Whatsapp feature lets you keep track of who’s watching you on the Messenger app. In the video you will learn what the stalking feature is and how it works.

In fact, there are no profile visits on WhatsApp. That means you don’t see who’s constantly clicking on your chat (to maybe stalk when you’re online) or who’s looking at your profile photo. The advantage for you: You can look at all profile photos without anyone noticing. With the WhatsApp status, however, it is easy to see which of your contacts is targeting you.

How Does WhatsApp Status Work Anyway?

In the status you can post photos, videos or sayings and share them with your contacts. These are then online for 24 hours. You can determine who can see your posts in the status data protection (at the top left of the status):

  • all your contacts
  • selected contacts only

With the WhatsApp status you can easily see who is stalking you and looking at your postings. If you have posted a status, you will see an eye icon at the bottom of the image. If you click on it, you can see who has viewed your status.

Hide status messages: This is how you can secretly stalk WhatsApp

Psst, but there is a trick how you can view the status messages from your contacts without anyone noticing. All you have to do is issue the read receipt in settings and then data protection. After stalking, it is best to activate it again. Otherwise you can no longer see who has read your text messages or your status message.

Can I read other people’s messages?

Secretly read along with whom your partner is writing? Or check what your work colleagues are chatting on WhatsApp? That sounds tempting and is actually said to work with some spy apps. However, there is one big BUT: Doing so can make you liable to prosecution.

In Germany everyone has the right to privacy. Secretly reading WhatsApp messages without the consent of the account owner is therefore illegal. Such spy apps are intended for parents who want to read the chats for the safety of the child. The spy apps are not prohibited, but it is also advisable for parents to discuss the installation with the child beforehand – otherwise you are legally in the maximum gray area.

In addition, such apps come with paid subscriptions. The most well-known software for reading WhatsApp chats is called “mSpy”. In order to be able to use this app, a license for the software must be purchased beforehand, this does not work via an app store. For this, a purchase must be made via the official homepage of “mSpy”. You will then receive an email with detailed installation instructions. The basic package costs 8.33 euros per month for a period of twelve months.
