This may be the plot of the upcoming Super Mario movie

The plot summary was posted online and can be read in its entirety below. Journalist Jeff Grubb has in a new episode of his Grubbsnax podcast same details confirmed. Logically, this information contains potential spoilers for the entire movie.

The animated film would start in New Dino City, a ‘realistic’ city where, according to the film, Mario also once competed against Donkey Kong. Mario, who is famous in this universe, would go down the sewer to investigate battles between turtles and gorillas.

In the sewers, he would be transported via a warp pipe to Mushroom Kingdom, where Bowser kidnapped Princess Peach. Luigi would follow Mario and stumble upon Yoshi in the Forbidden Forest. The brothers would go head-to-head against Bowser.

Furthermore, the plot summary states that there are multiple songs in the game (including a song about the life of a plumber), that Mario and Luigi have accents that are characteristic of people from Brooklyn, that several iconic enemies from the Mario universe in the film and Mario opening a plumbing business in Mushroom Kingdom at the end of the film.

The above details have not yet been officially confirmed. The Super Mario movie should have hit theaters at the end of this year, but earlier this week, Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto announced that the film has been postponed to the spring of 2023.

It was announced last year that Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy, Jurassic World, Parks and Recreation) will be the voice of Mario. Jack Black lends his voice to Bowser, Seth Rogen to Donkey Kong, Anna Taylor-Joy (Queen’s Gambit) to Princess Peach and Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia) to Luigi. Keegan-Michael Key also provides the voice of Toad, Kevin Michael Richardson the voice of Kamek, Fred Armisen the voice of Cranky Kong and Sebastian Maniscalco the voice of Spike.
