Why did they sue Christian Nodal’s parents?

According to the program fenestrationit was Silvia and Jaime who first sued Universal in November 2021, claiming to have the rights of the album WHY!.

However, Universal Music’s lawyers went to the Attorney General’s office with documents claiming that Nodal’s parents had signed contracts with the label, acknowledging that they own the rights.

They also detailed that the family would do it contracts shown with a previous date to those signed with Universal, which could indicate that those documents are false or have been hidden in their favor, which involves a crime, which is why they were sued for generic fraud for trying to steal the material belonging to the label.

What was the origin of the conflict between Universal Music and Christian Nodal?

In October 2021, the Mexican Association of Phonogram and Videogram Producers (AMPROFON) issued a statement warning that any entrepreneur or artist should refrain from contracting, disclosing, producing, distributing, marketing, exploiting or selling any type of Christian Nodal material unless you have the consent of Universal Music.

After there was speculation about the ‘veto’, it was Nodal himself who turned to his social networks to clarify the situation, which he described as a injustice towards his musical career after refusing to renew his contract.

“It is impossible for them to continue to commit this kind of slavery to artists with record labels by force. I have a resolution from a federal judge ordering that all measures requested by Universal be denied, “she said through a video.
