This is what the sun looks like when taken from a very close distance

The European Solar Orbiter will flyby with the Sun this March.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Rides European Solar Orbiter make its closest approach to the sun this March. The satellite has returned one of the most detailed photos of our solar system’s central star.

The latest image, created by combining 25 different photos taken on March 7, depicts the sun in incredible detail.

The image was obtained in great detail in high resolution by the Extreme Ultraviolet Imager (EUI). European spacecraft showing the complete disk of the Sun and the outer atmosphere, the corona. The Spectral Imaging of the Coronal Environment (SPICE) instrument captured another image and is the first of its kind in 50 years.

The images were taken at a distance of 75 million kilometers, halfway between our planet and its parent star, by the Solar Orbiter. The whole picture was taken for more than four hours.

The European Space Agency (ESA) stated that the images were taken one after another. This is because each tile takes about 10 minutes to shoot, including the time for the spacecraft to point from one segment to the next.
