19 match days have been played, the Bundesliga has come back from the long World Cup break and has already produced some great games in 2023. After the first four matchdays in the new year, we’re looking at the “true table”. This is what the Bundesliga would look like if there were no wrong decisions.
The football portal wahretabelle.de takes a closer look at controversial referee decisions in the Bundesliga. The community competence team then decides whether the referee made the wrong decision in relevant scenes. If this is the case, the corrected result flows into the “True Table”.
To spoiler straight away: Without wrong decisions by the referees or the VARs, there would be a new table leader in the Bundesliga – the Frankfurt Eintracht would have to have five (!) points more on the account and would be one point ahead of FC Bayern .
In addition to the SGE, VfB Stuttgart was the most disadvantaged, because the Swabians, who were threatened with relegation, were cheated by five points due to wrong decisions.
The teams that have benefited the most from the refereeing mistakes are Union Berlin (four points) and Werder Bremen (three points).
