The finale of the 23rd season of The smartest person was won by Joes Brauers on Friday evening. At 24 years old, the Limburg actor is the youngest winner ever.
The candidate defeated other finalists Jan Dirk van der Burg and Tim Hartog and can call himself the winner. The actor received the trophy from Tom Kleijn, the journalist who wrote last season of The smartest person managed to win.
Brauers became known in the Netherlands for his role as Kruimeltje in the musical of the same name. The Limburg actor won a Musical Award in 2023 for his role as a chaplain in the musical Diary of a sheepdog. The year before, he was nominated for a Golden Calf for his role as soldier Erik in the film Do Not Hesitate.
The program has been presented for years by Philip Freriks and Maarten van Rossem. They will stop at the beginning of 2025. Freriks is succeeded by Herman van der Zandt. It has not yet been announced who will replace Van Rossem.
