This is the Only Way for Covid-19 Case in East Java to Go Down in 2 Weeks According to Experts

SURABAYA, KOMPAS.com – Epidemiology Specialist at Airlangga University Surabaya, Dr Windhu Purnomo said that the imposition of strict sanctions was a way for Covid-19 cases in East Java to be dropped within two weeks.

Windhu exemplifies the country of Singapore which imposes Singapore’s $ 300 fine on non-masked citizens.

In fact, if the violation is repeated, then the fine will be multiplied to 1,000 Singapore dollars.

“In my opinion the only way to reduce the number of Covid-19 cases in the next two weeks is to apply strict sanctions for violators of health protocols,” Windhu said when contacted on Friday (6/26/2020) night.

Windhu hopes that the government does not wait for residents to wake up

“The awareness is growing for a long time, now we are competing with Covid-19 transmission which is very fast. Therefore, the government must immediately make strict rules,” said Windhu.

Previously reported, during a visit to East Java, President Jokowi gave two weeks to East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa to bring down the case Covid-19 in East Java.

Regarding this request, Khofifah claimed that it was not easy to realize.

“This task is hard if only the provincial government, district government, municipal government are moving,” said Khofifah during a virtual coordination meeting at the Grahadi State Building, Surabaya, quoted from Surya, Thursday (6/25/2020).
