The iPhone 12 series will be Apple’s first flagship line to feature a 5G network. However, 5G-capable devices are known to generally cost more than their 4G LTE counterparts.

Regardless, Ming Chi Kuo’s reports have revealed that the cost of the iPhone could go up by $ 85 to add sub-6 5G support or $ 135 (Rp. 2 million) to add a millimeter wave.
Apparently, Apple has put pressure on its suppliers to try to reduce the cost of parts and will use a simpler battery design to lower the overall cost of the iPhone 12 series, Gizmochina reported Friday (21/8).
Changes can be seen from the specifications of the iPhone 12 battery board reportedly featuring a smaller number of layers and a smaller area. This will allow Apple to reduce battery costs by up to 40 to 50 percent compared to the iPhone 11 series.
The company will reportedly abandon the hardware design and opt for the softboard battery design for the iPhone 12s series by 2021. However, so far the reports are uncertain.
