The Formula 1 teams have arrived in Austria and are preparing for the first Grand Prix of the season. It gives a strange feeling to everyone involved because normally the first race takes place around mid-March in Australia, Melbourne, but due to the corona crisis, everything has been postponed and adjusted.
Teams stay together
Now that the teams have traveled to Austria, we get an insight into the new measures that have been taken by the FOM. For example, the teams must stay together but must not have contact with other teams. Also, as it seems, drivers are not allowed to travel separately. In any case, McLaren has chosen to travel in one plane with all team members present in Spielberg. Drivers Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz also went on the same plane as the rest of the team members.
Each team has its own plane in which it travels and at the airport buses are available that are permanently available for that specific team. Some teams are in a large hotel, but not together with other teams. There would also be pop-up hotels built up for some teams, on the empty campsites around the circuit.
