Ewa Lemańska made her stage debut at the Polish Theater in Bydgoszcz. She then she appeared in the series ‘Doktor Ewa’ and in the film ‘How far from here, how close’. However, the role of Maryna in the 1974 series “Janosik” where she played alongside Marek Perepeczko brought her national fame. In the 1980s Lemańska said goodbye to her homeland and emigrated to the United States.
Few people know about the turbulent biography of Ewa Lemańska. The actress won the fight against three cancers, she also changed her career path. Initially, in the 1980s and 1990s, she developed a career in modeling. When she fell ill with breast cancer in the late 90’s, she decided to finish nursing school. She worked in Florida as a physician assistant. However, her fate did not spare her. She was soon diagnosed with a brain tumor, she won this battle too. Her next cancer attack in 2016 was melanoma. After her illness, Lemańska decided to focus on herself and her health, definitively withdrawing from the spotlight.
Ewa Lemańska has been married three times. First, she was married to Cezar Kapliński and, after their divorce in 1980 and emigration, she became involved with Olgierd Roycewicz. Her last marriage to James Rooney only lasted a few years.
