Sberbank, Alfa-Bank‎, and many other banks will not be able to issue a common card of the two Mir payment systems – UnionPay.

International payment system UnionPay decided to terminate cooperation with Russian banks that fell under Western sanctions.

This was reported by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov in Telegram.

“UnionPay suspends cooperation with the banks that fell under the sanctions. This means that Sberbank, Alfa-Bank‎, and many other banks will not be able to issue a common card of the two Mir payment systems – UnionPay,” the message says.
