During the night of Wednesday and the early morning of this Thursday, a Voracious fire that consumed 3.5 of the 12 hectares of the Paicaví wetland, in the commune of Concepción. Due to the incident, the municipality of that city convened this morning a Communal Committee for Risk and Disaster Management, and It was agreed to file a complaint against all those who are responsible.
“This was not by magic. Here there was manipulation of the human being, intentionally or not, and that is what this investigation will have to reflect, ”said Álvaro Ortiz (DC), mayor of Concepción.
In the instance -where they also participated Conaf, Firefighters, Onemi, SAG, Seremi and the Superintendency of the Environment – it was also specified that there is a serious impact on the ecosystem of the place, due to the affectation of flora and fauna that inhabited the place.
As detailed by the mayor to TVU Noticias, even the Seremi de Medioambiente is evaluating “the possibility of even making a presentation to the State Defense Council, to also initiate an investigation.”

A nutria, no matter how beautiful it can be seen from afar, if it feels invaded in its territory, they have giant fangs, therefore they may have a problem ”, explained Ortiz. In addition, he asked people who walk their pets in the surrounding places, to keep them tied up to prevent them from attacking the fauna present in the place.
“This a fast-spreading forest fire was declared, therefore Conaf is going to do an investigation into it. It is necessary to consider that here it operates the same thing that is done with a fire in a building: the site of the event cannot be altered ”, he added.
