Playlists are curated lists that match your taste in music, your mood, or the car you drive. At least: if you can believe Lamborghini, because that brand has put together three bespoke Spotify playlists.
While the car came onto the market almost 120 years ago without a radio, today it has become a must-have, with automakers equipping their flagship models with powerful audio systems, sometimes with dozens of speakers and cutting-edge technology. Surprisingly, music streaming services ensured that the CD player quickly disappeared from the car.
Now automakers are even going so far as to develop playlists that not only match the Italian sports car brand, but are also tailored to that model’s specific engine. For example, there is a playlist for V8 engines, V10 engines, and V12s. Music producer Alex Trecarichi claims to have discovered the frequencies of engines at idle, 4000 rpm and maximum power.
This is how he discovered, among other things, the numbers that best suited the 780 hp Aventador Ultimae. Trecarichi tuned each frequency to the key of certain songs, such as that of Lorenzo Senni The fee is infiniteis by Ben Böhmer Run away and Sam Collins We can all dance. Other songs in the V12 playlist are Like the rose van Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Looped there is Kiasmos, Arrivals they SWEAT, Just follow from CatzClaw and much more.
Mario Mautone, automotive manager of Lamborghini, associates the sound of the V12 with that of a violin. “It’s that raw, metallic echo that is then embodied in the psychoacoustic experience, the chemical and emotional response to the sound wave that our brains convert into positive emotions and memories,” Mautone said.
