Thionville. The urban community gives the green light to the sustainable mobility package

The Portes de France-Thionville agglomeration community intends to promote among its agents and employees the use of alternative modes of travel to the car, with the implementation of a sustainable mobility package from 1is January 2021. An action that is in line with the mobility law and the decree of December 9, 2020, for easier, less expensive and above all cleaner daily transport.

How it works ?

The agglomeration community undertakes to pay a fixed price of 200 euros per year to all its officials and contractors who use a conventional or electric bicycle to get to work at least one hundred days a year. This package also applies to carpooling and is intended for both drivers and passengers. “With this measure, we want to fight against autosolism”, indicates Bernard Veinnant, vice-president of the community of Agglo and mayor of Basse-Ham. Eligible agents must submit a declaration on their honor no later than December 31 of the year for which the lump sum is paid.

What about scooters?

Only bicycles and carpooling fall within the scope of the sustainable mobility package in 2021. But from 2022, electric scooters will also be considered as a means of transport eligible for the bonus of 200 euros per year.
