Thionville. Salvatore Perri, new conductor of the Symphony Orchestra

Since 1is September, he is the conductor of a professional orchestra, that of Thionville-Moselle. At just 34 years old, Salvatore Perri has made his thirst for discovery and his passion for instruments his raison d’être.

Born in Italy, he shone from the age of 3 with his voice. Since then, he has taken to the piano and oboe. For a long time, he hesitated between medicine and music. Finally, he made the decision to vibrate, play and sing. In France for six years, Salvatore Perri is a knowledge bulimic. He speaks five languages, took up the viola two years ago and has just started playing the cello, “because it is important to master the instruments to be a good conductor”.

Since 2017, he has been guiding the Thionvillois choir l’Allégrette which has been talked about with Carmina Burana, in 2020, he took over the direction of Alam in Metz. In the meantime, he has become an accompanist at the Thionville conservatory. Inspired and passionate, Salvatore has accepted a new challenge. He now replaces Jean Remy, who has retired. “In June, I met the musicians, we started last week, the rehearsals on Tuesday evening at the Led. To say that I had my orchestra diploma in Luxembourg in June. How lucky to start my career here under such conditions. “

First concert on November 11

The November 11 concert dedicated to Gershwin is getting ready. “We will also welcome Fanny Azzuro then in March, a size of the violin, I have a little pressure. I have no room for error. “

The Symphonic, he knows it well, he has already worked with it. “I have plans for him to shine even more. We must play the border card but also think about tours. I also want to split the training, to allow it to perform in other conditions but also to understand other works in the repertoire. Tests were carried out at the Adagio, they were very successful. “

To the baguette with kindness

He abhors mediocrity. “Each note has its meaning, I am a rational artist. “Symbioses and even harmonies between his different formations, of course he thinks about it. “Once a year, I would like to offer a choir-orchestra concert, we must not restrain ourselves. »His model? Ricardo Muti. “His philosophy, his simplicity touch me. “

For a long time, he doubted his talent, his legitimacy. But that was before. Salvatore intends to lead the musicians of the Symphonic to the baton but always with delicacy, rigor and benevolence.
