Thibaut Monnet comes home. Or almost. He, who left Valais in 1999, at the age of 17, signed up for a season with HC Sierre. A final contract, perhaps, for a 38-year-old striker who has the most extensive record in our canton.
Double Swiss champion with the ZSC Lions – in 2008 and 2012 -, Thibaut Monnet was European champion in 2009 with the Zurich club. He has 149 national team selections for 57 points. In 2013, he was in the picture when Switzerland was runner-up to the world.
After a very long career in the National League, Thibaut Monnet had rediscovered the Swiss League with Kloten and Winterthur, last season. The striker has played 832 elite games. He still played 187 matches in the Swiss League for a total of 688 points in the national league.
