They warn about the end of sex

The days of sex are numbered? If we take for certain the theory of Professor Henry Greely, from Stanford University, United States, the answer is: yes. Or, at least, sex that has reproductive purposes and not purely pleasurable.

In his book The end of sex and the future of human reproduction, Greely says developed countries will abandon sex as a traditional means of conceiving a child in 20 to 40 years.

According to your particular vision, more and more affluent people will choose methods such as in vitro fertilization and they will conceive children with certain physical and mental characteristics, as well as immune to certain diseases.

Technological advances will allow specialists to spawn female gametes in vitro using stem cells obtained from a simple biopsy of a man, which would replace the costly and laborious egg collection system for in vitro fertilization (IVF) currently in use.

In this way -and always according to Greely’s version-, would reach the end of sexual reproduction as we know it.
